I entirely agree with your points.

I agree that CT1.0 will continue to be the mainstay, with CT2.0 as an addition. Maybe it should have been called CT1.0plus.

It will be fascinating to see how CT2.0 pans out practically in terms of teacher professional development, resources and student learning.

I also agree that there is much work to be done to figure out both what we teach and how on AI/ML and data science. It’s an exciting time – lots of collaboration and hard thinking to be done.

I believe that it is essential that CT 1.0 be taught first, if only because the programs that perform AI/ML are constructed using the toolsets of CT 1.0.
If we wish to educate learners of all ages about CT 2.0, we will need some carefully curated datasets for learners to practice with (including some that illustrate biases that turn Artificial Intelligence into Artificial Stupidity–it has been my experience that novices learn as much from failure as from success in applying computer technology).
