This is a far cry from those like Woz, Pappert, and myself developed in the early to mid 80s. Today as I seen it, many schools in NYC is it about accessing the internet and copying (not verifying) information from the web to create reports for various classes (English/Language Arts and Social Studies/History). Programming, Robotics, 3D Printing and Web Design is barely taught in afterschool and summer camp programs.

I need to get out of retirement and drag this city back into a unified force of technology education…

Computer control has been on the curriculum for years – and such scope to implement. EG computerized thrill rides. I was always worried that it was often pushed to be done at end of school year in many schools and the thing teachers never then reached. There is scope for sharing equipment if cost is an issue!
